Keoliz Arcade Sticks: Cherry x the Mini - JoyMOT(Joystick & Mod Throwback)

Ini merupakan controller pertama kami yang menggabungkan tombol keyboard & arcade. Menggunakan 4 tombol Cherry MX Soft untuk kendalikan arah, dan tombol-tombol asli dari Hori Mini sebagai tombol action nya. Kotak model 11 dipilih sebagai casing controller ini, kemudian dimodif supaya ada kemiringan dari belakang ke depan.

This is our first product that combines keyboard & arcade buttons. It uses 4 Cherry MX Soft buttons to control directions, and buttons from the Hori Mini as the action buttons. We chose Model #11 for the case and modified the design to give it a little slope.

Mencari solusi agak tombol tidak timbul terlalu tinggi ke atas merupakan salah satu tantangan terbesar dalam proyek ini. Ketika kita seperti nya sudah dapat solusi nya kita harus mundur satu langkah. Jarak tombol arcade dari ke tombol keyboard dinilai konsumen nya terlalu dekat. Oleh karena itu kita menghabiskan 1-2 hari tambahan untuk merubah kotak nya. Kita buat lubang baru dengan tambal lalu potong lagi. Kemudian kita ganti acrylic lama dengan yang baru.

Finding a solution so that the buttons don't look sticking out was the biggest challenge in this project. Just as we found it we had to take a step backwards. The buyer wanted to increase the distance between the action and directional buttons. And so we spent another 1-2 days to change the case. We made new holes by patching the previous ones & then drill the case again. We also changed the plexi glass with a new one.

Kita belajar banyak hal dari membuat controller ini. Semoga ke depan nya kita dapat membuat produk serupa yang jauh lebih baik.

We learnt a lot of things from building this controller. Hopefully we'll be able to produce similar but better controller in the future.
