Gamesir C2 merupakan arcade stick multi-console yang menggunakan tombol & tongkat Sanwa Denshi, dan pemilik nya ingin merubah stick ini menjadi semacam hitbox. Dalam hati kami bertanya-tanya soal apa saja yang perlu kita lakukan untuk pekerjaan ini karena kami belum pernah memodifikasi stick Gamesir.
Gamesir C2 is a multi-console arcade stick that has Sanwa Denshi buttons & lever. The owner of the stick wanted to turn stick into some sort of hitbox. We ask ourselves what would be the steps we had to take for this project because we have never modded a Gamesir stick.

Sebelum barang dikirim kita perlu tunggu dulu pemilik stick nya membeli tombol Sanwa yang akan difungsikan sebagai pengganti tongkat Sanwa JLF. Usai mempertimbangkan untuk print di Keoliz saja dia mengirim Gamesir milik nya beserta tombol Sanwa OBSF24 dan OBSF30 baru.
Before the stick was sent to us we waited for the customer to buy Sanwa buttons to replace the Sanwa JLF as the device to input directions. After considering the options of printing the artwork on his own, or asking us to print it the stick owner sent us his Gamesir along with the new OBSF24 & OBSF30 buttons.
Konsumen nya sibuk membuat gambar yang akan dipasang di proyek ini sementara di Keoliz kita mempelajari produk Gamesir yang telah sampai di bengkel kita. Kita perhatikan rancangan barang nya kemudian memutuskan untuk memasang acrylic hitam setebal 2mm sebagai pengganti top panel besi yang dipakai untuk memasang tombol & tongkat; acrylic setebal 4mm yang transparan untuk melindungi artwork.
While the customer was busy making his artwork we were studying the Gamesir C2 stick that had just arrived at our workshop. We analysed the design then decided to install 2mm of black acrylic sheet to replace the metal top panel that held the lever & buttons; while a 4mm transparent acrylic sheet was used to protect the artwork.

Beruntung kita & konsumen sudah memutuskan untuk mengubah posisi tombol arah, terutama posisi tombol arah atas. Tombol yang ditaruh di paling bawah perlu dipindah sedikit ke atas karena top panel tidak lebar.
Fortunately the consumer & us at Keoliz have come to the decision to move the directional buttons a little bit, specially the up button. The lowest button had to moved upwards because the top panel was not wide enough.

Acrylic yang dipakai sebagai pelindung gambar terlalu besar untuk kita scan di scanner kita. Ide lama yang kita pakai di pekerjaan bisa kita gunakan di sini; kita gambar garis di kertas bekas kalender, kita kita lipat kertas nya & scan lebih dari sekali. Kemudian kita gabung hasil scan jadi satu gambar.
The acrylic used to cover the artwork was too big for our scanner. So we used an old idea where we drew outline of the acrylic on an old calendar, then we folded the paper & we scanned the paper a few times. Then we merged the scanned images into one image.
Beberapa hari kemudian gambar yang dikerjakan pemilik stick Gamesir ini selesai dibuat. Sebelum dicetak di studio foto kita resize jadi 4% lebih kecil karena hasil cetak mereka biasa 3-5% lebih besar dari gambar yang asli.
Few days had passed and the artwork was done. Before we sent it to photo studio we downsized the image by around 4-5% because the print size is often 3-5% bigger than the actual image.

Di PC dan juga di PS4 kita lihat stick ini pakai metode SOCD arah yang ketika dua arah berlawanan ditekan maka stick dianggap netral(contoh kiri + kanan = netral). Menarik nya kita bisa main pakai DualShock 4 dan Gamesir secara bersaman ketika main di PS4.
On PC & PS4 we could see the stick used a particular SOCD feature where two opposite directions equal neutral(e.g. left + right = neutral). Interestingly we could play with DualShock 4 & the stick together at the same time.
